Flu Season

Back in February of 1996 I came down with the flu.  I was sick for weeks.  It was just awful.  I swore I would never get the flu again and have faithfully gotten the flu shot each and every year since.  I made a point of visiting a local pharmacy in November of 2017 to make sure I got my flu shot for this season.  Despite my precaution, I got the flu.  While I have been quite sick, it has not nearly been as bad as '96.  I am getting better but this bug has left me weak, tired and still coughing.

I missed some hockey games, missed two and half days of work and did not feel much like knitting.  I just keep going to bed earlier and sleeping as much as I can.

I wanted to post to bring you up to date on what I have accomplished in the last few weeks.

I finished the Christmas sweater.

I used the chart from Santa on Bike by BlondeMoments69 available on Ravelry.  However, I made the body of the sweater to my own specifications.  All yarn was Paton's Classic Superwash DK.

I finished a child's hat and mittens.

I used the children's mitten pattern from The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns.  The hat is also from the same book but with modifications.  I love the fake fur pompoms and I keep buying various keychains just to obtain them.  The yarn is Paton's Classic Wool DK Superwash in Autumn Spice.  Hubby brought it back for me from the Listowel sale in August.

I am still working on the Christmas wreath.  It still needs more decoration.

I started a new pair of socks.

I am still on the first sock of the pair.

Paton's Kroy sock yarn in Grey Brown Marl colourway.

This flu has an unexpected side effect.  I can't seem to eat very much and everything I do eat turns to gas.  I need to end this post so I can leave the room and breathe again.
